Leaving High School

Hola a todas,
No se si interpreté bien la consigna, pero de todos modos les envio mi propuesta.

Here it goes,
Ref.: Leaving High School Plan

This is what I think could be done with students
leaving high school.
The idea is to start with:

-  Talking about life changes:
.  I tell the students they are going to read four brief texts from a magazine
about being eighteen. They infer what they think people will talk about.
.  They answer some questions about for example, who of the people in the texts
Hopes to start a career, who is worried about not getting a good job, feels ready
to become an adult or knows what they are going to study.
.  They work with a partner and give their opinions about who have the clearest
ideas of what to do with their lives, who they think will be the most successful
the happiest and the most disappointed and why.
.  We listen to the people we have read about in the  texts before, who are now 28, talking
about how their lives have changed since  they were 18 and their plans for the future.
They listen and complete a table.
I play the tape as necessary.
.  They check their predictions. We start a class discussion.
.  I write ' If you had unlimited talents  and abilities, what would you do?' they spend
some minutes thinking and they discuss in small groups and then we share the answers on
the net emphasizing the coincidences among students.
.  Then, the students think about their dream job and answer some questions about the
skills , personal quealities and special qualifications they need.
.  Then they complete a questionnaire about Use of English in their present and future
work or study.  In small groups they discuss their answers and report to the
class.  If time available, they interview other groups about how important
English will be for their future.
.  Next, They read some tips on how to write a good Curriculum Vitae. 'The perfect graduate CV'
.  They find at least six ways to improve the example CV,  I set for them, using the given tips.
.  Finally, they write their own CV following the advice and the instructions in the
   tips.

Well, I hope you can get some ideas from this sequence of tasks and add or change things
according to your students' need and to yourself.  Perhapes we should include more technology
but well, we'll do it  better after the course.

Bye and please, make comments.
kisses  viviana
